Position Summary

BWC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our project management team from our Salado office. This is a full-time, office-based administrative role focused on document control, coordination, and communication across multiple projects.

The APM will support a Senior Project Manager overseeing 3–5 projects at a time, helping ensure deadlines are met, documentation is accurate, and all stakeholders stay aligned. This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, keeping projects running smoothly through strong organization and communication.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Support the Project Manager (PM) in coordinating day-to-day administrative aspects of multiple projects

  • Prepare, review, and distribute project documentation including contracts, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders

  • Schedule, attend (as needed), and document project meetings; distribute meeting minutes and track follow-ups

  • Help manage workflows and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met across all parties

Document Control & Tracking

  • Maintain organized digital project files (drawings, specs, permits, contracts, etc.)

  • Manage and update RFI logs, submittal logs, and change order logs

  • Track project schedules, budgets, and cost reports with guidance from the PM

  • Ensure timely communication and documentation flow between office, field teams, and external partners

Team & Project Support

  • Coordinate with superintendents and subcontractors to support project needs from an administrative standpoint

  • Assist with project closeout documentation, punch lists, and reporting

  • Support internal team communication across multiple active projects

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain clear, professional communication with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors

  • Assist in preparing progress reports, pay applications, and project correspondence

  • Represent BWC with professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Commercial construction experience preferred, but not required

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or administrative support roles (preferred)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and willingness to learn construction management software (e.g., Autodesk Build, Bluebeam)

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
